(played by Anthony Denison) is one of the most pivotal turning points in Prison Break

Before we analyze his "extra quality," let's establish the man. Aldo Burrows is introduced as a ghost. For most of his life, Lincoln believed his father was a drunkard who abandoned the family. In reality, Aldo was a high-ranking operative for —the shadowy organization that frames Lincoln for the murder of Terrence Steadman.

In Season 2, when Aldo finally meets with Lincoln and Michael, the conversation is jarring. There is no weeping over lost time. Aldo immediately hands over a "sonic key" (a device that would later help break Sara Tancredi out of prison). He talks about moles within The Company and the location of Scylla. This is a man who has weaponized his paternity. He cannot give his sons a safe childhood, but he can give them the tools to overthrow the government.
