Set in a near-future Kerala, “72 Portable” follows a down-on-his-luck repairman known as Panikkaran who ekes out a living fixing battery packs and portable devices. When a mysterious client offers payment in exchange for repairing a battered device stamped “72,” Panikkaran is pulled into a moral and existential dilemma that forces him to confront past choices, community obligations, and the price of survival.
Early screeners (leaked on film forums) have drawn comparisons to Birdman (the one-shot illusion) and Victoria (the real-time German heist film). However, the "72 Portable" label has received mixed reactions.
