A new face has appeared in the last three comics: , a leaner, cockier rival to the main cast. Rook doesn’t fit the typical "chub" mold—he’s defined and muscular. His narrative purpose seems to be a foil: he mocks the larger characters, only to be humbled (and expanded) by magical or competitive means. This injection of conflict is fresh; earlier Chubold comics were often purely situational or celebratory.
