The story follows Walter Mitty, a negative assets manager at Life magazine who spends his days lost in elaborate heroic daydreams. He is shy, overlooked, and harbor's a crush on his colleague, Cheryl Melhoff. When a crucial negative for the final print issue of the magazine goes missing, Walter is forced to stop dreaming and start living. His quest to find the elusive photographer Sean O'Connell takes him from the streets of New York to the icy landscapes of Greenland, the rugged terrain of Iceland, and the towering heights of the Himalayas.
