My. Rcell.me File

Take the Coelacanth , a 6-foot-long, lobe-finned fish thought to have vanished 66 million years ago (alongside the dinosaurs). For 66 million years, paleontologists had its fossils neatly labeled "end-Cretaceous extinction." Then, in 1938, a South African museum curator named Marjorie Courtenay-Latimer noticed a strange, blue fish with limb-like fins in a local fisherman's catch. It was a living coelacanth. The fish had been hiding in deep ocean caves, unchanged for millions of years.
