When we look at wellness through a lens of body positivity, the motivation changes. You don't go for a run because you hate your thighs; you go for a run because you love how the fresh air feels in your lungs and how strong your legs are. You don't eat nourishing food to shrink your waistline; you eat it because you deserve to feel energized and vibrant.

Verification, in this context, was a shield against two major threats:

Wellness should not be about reaching a future “after” version of yourself. It should be about treating the body you have right now with kindness. That means hydrating because you deserve water, sleeping because you deserve rest, and taking rest days without guilt.

Body positivity argues that your body size is not a report card on your soul. You can be in a larger body and run a marathon. You can be in a smaller body and have high cholesterol. You can be in a "perfect" body and be deeply unhappy.
